City Council to vote on two important issues
The Eugene City Council will meet Monday night to vote on a plastic bag ban and to investigate whether the city can enact a law that would prohibit the shipment of coal through Eugene to Coos Bay, according to KEZI.
The meeting will take place Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Eugene Public Library
Bystander holds down disorderly man until the police arrive
Officers responded to a call at the Albertsons on Hilyard Street after a man reportedly assaulted two people in the aluminum can return area, according a Eugene Police Department news release.
Jacob Morton Berk — the 19-year-old suspect — reportedly became disorderly toward another person returning bottles and attacked the other male bystander. When confronted by a second bystander, Berk attacked again punching the bystander in the face. The bystander, a 65-year-old Marine veteran immediately took Berk to the ground and held him there until police arrived.
Snow covers Oregon Cascades for first time this season
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in some areas of the Oregon Cascades through 11 a.m. Monday. Expected snow fall is between 1 to 4 inches and is expected above 4,500 feet Monday with a dusting near 3,500 feet, according to KEZI.
