Maybe it’s Friday night. Or maybe it’s Tuesday night – it doesn’t really matter. Tonight is pizza night. This begs the question – where to order your next pie from? Before you turn to the food review oblivion that is Yelp, remember that you’ve got options – any of which can be delivered right to your doorstep. With the help of Hungry Ducks, you can find deals on pies, calzones or whatever Italian confection you’re craving. Here are some of Hungry Ducks’ premier pizza choices, all of which offer speedy delivery.
al Taglio
al Taglio is the kind of pizzeria to go when you want it all – New York-style flatbread pizza, antipasti, freshly-tossed house salads, paninis and more, all delivered straight to your door. Making matters even better is the kind of deals they’re handing out – a slice and a salad from al Taglio won’t make your wallet cry like some of the other Italian places around town.
Best Time to Order: Lunching out on a budget.
Hungry Ducks Special: Slice and salad, $7
Coburg Pizza Company
Eagle-eyed readers will notice that Coburg’s pies are the ones featured on this issue’s cover – a choice we didn’t make at random. No regular, run-of-the-mill neighborhood pizza pie finds itself under the headlines of Emerald Eats’ latest. With award-worthy wings, calzones for days and a pizza menu that’s true gourmet, you’ll find yourself smack-dab in marinara nirvana. Coburg Pizza Co., well, delivers.
Best Time to Order: The choicest pick for game day. #ScoDucks
Hungry Ducks Special: Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks, $4.99
Falling Sky Pizzeria
You’ve been to their trivia nights, now let them treat you to a night in. Falling Sky is a Eugene favorite, with locations all over town including their EMU pizzeria. Lucky for you, they deliver all over town, too. Next time you’ve got a few bottles of another true local like Ninkasi burning a hole in your fridge, get one of Falling Sky’s beautiful pizza pies delivered to your front door. Try one of their signatures, like the Flyin’ Hawaiian, or get in the zone and make your own.
Best Time to Order: When you’re craving a slice with a pint on the side.
Hungry Ducks Special: Drunken Pesto Chicken, $12
Mezza Luna
Some pizzas, you want to share with some close friends after a rough week. Some pizzas, you want to eat cold for breakfast after a wild night out. Then there’s the kind of pizza that’s so artfully crafted, as beautiful on the eyes as it is on the taste buds, that you can’t share it with anyone else but that special someone. That’s pretty much Mezza Luna in a nutshell – pies that will take you to the moon and back. Now that’s amore.
Best Time to Order: A date night full of romance and pizza.
Hungry Ducks Special: Make your own pizza – $24 for 18” and $18 for 14”
Sy’s Pizza
C’mon, it’s Sy’s. You’ve either been in there a thousand times or walked past it a million. If it’s the latter, it’s about time you gave it a go. Sy’s has been kicking around the UO scene for years, so it’s only right that they take their New York-style pies back to basics. This is one pizza joint that’s no-frills in a no-holds barred way.
Best Time to Order: When warding off those late-night munchies.
Hungry Ducks Special: Hawaiian Tuesdays – Large Hawaiian, $22
Whirled Pies
You might have to wait a little longer for the delivery guy from Whirled Pies to pull up, but don’t stress – the pies they’re whipping up are worth a few more minutes on the clock. This pun-named pizza joint (if you need a moment to figure it out, that’s cool) whips them up with great style and care. Their self-proclaimed “Eugene style” slices come in vegan and traditional varieties, so nobody will have a reason to frown on their next pizza night.
Best Time to Order: When the parents come through for pizza night.
Hungry Ducks Special: Calzone, side salad & soda, $12
