Being vegan is no easy task. It seems like everywhere we turn, there are meat and dairy-filled temptations. Sometimes, it’s difficult to feel like we can eat like “normal” people and with “normal” people. Veganism is difficult, but knowing your options makes it so much easier, especially when it comes to take out. We need to be able to curb our late-night munchies or mid-day cravings just like the next guy. Take-out is an essential part of college life, and vegans should not have to miss out. Luckily, with the array of vegan delivery options in Eugene, we don’t have to. Here is a list of some of my favorite dishes and details about where to get ‘em.
Cornbread Café
Cornbread Café is a vegan specialty restaurant that delivers with Cascade Courier Collective. Your meal can arrive via bike messenger between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Give them a call at 541-505-9175.
The Eugenewich
A Southern-fried tofu patty, Daiya cheddar, carrot bacon, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and smoky sauce on a grilled bun. It’s a savory burger alternative that’s perfect for a Friday night in with friends.
Buffalo Hot Things
A hot wing alternative. Southern-bread tofu, ranch dressing, celery and carrot sticks. Perfect for game day.
Sweet Basil Express
Your favorite on-campus Thai restaurant delivers with Hungry Ducks! Order Monday through Friday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Yellow Curry
Potatoes, carrots, onions and bell pepper in a coconut milk based yellow curry sauce. It’s warm, spicy, and sweet—a perfect combination for a rainy study session.
Sweet and Sour
Pineapple, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions, green onion and bell peppers stir fried with tangy sauce. It’s fresh, sweet, sour, and filling—great for lunch or dinner.
