With the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships just two weeks away, the Oregon men’s and women’s track and field teams are making their final pushes for NCAA qualifying marks.
Today and Saturday, the No. 1 women and No. 12 men will head to Dempsey Indoor Facility in Seattle for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, the veritable conference meet for indoor track season.
The women boast two individuals with national-leading marks — senior Brianne Theisen in the pentathlon (a collegiate record mark) and sophomore Jordan Hasay in the mile — as well as the nation’s fastest distance medley relay. Sophomore Elijah Greer (800m) holds the only top national mark for the Men of Oregon.
Other Oregon women with top-five national marks in their events include: Alex Kosinski in the 5,000m (No. 2), Anne Kesselring in the mile (No. 3), Melissa Gergel in the pole vault (No. 4), Hasay in the 3,000m (No. 4) and Kosinski in the 3,000m (No. 5). Matthew Centrowitz (5,000m) and David Klech (heptathlon) rank second and fifth nationally, respectively, in their events up to today.
