The All-University Commencement
Ceremony
The main ceremony will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, in McArthur Court. It will end about 2:30 p.m. There will be no tickets for McArthur Court. Seating will be first come, first served and the doors will open at 10:30 a.m.
In case of rain, all other ceremonies will be held indoors and the switch to rain locations will be announced on local radio and TV stations beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.
You may attend and participate in the ceremony whether or not you are graduating. However, if you have not filed for a degree and are not actually graduating, your name will not appear in the program. Members of the Order of the Emerald (students who graduated more than fifty years ago) will also participate in the ceremony.

Candidates should assemble on the covered tennis courts, south end, no later than noon. Graduates should assemble by college or school and, for the College of Arts and Sciences, by departments. Doctoral candidates: Cards with your name and your adviser’s name are handed out in the assembly area. Please make certain you have a card before the procession begins.

Please stand when asked by the dean, and remain standing during the conferral of degrees. Following the conferral, you will be asked to sit. Individual recognition will be given at the individual college and school ceremonies.

Please stand when asked by the dean of your school or college, and remain standing until all candidates have been called upon and the degrees conferred. Once the degree has been conferred, move your tassel from right to left. Individual recognition will be given at the individual college and school ceremonies.
Recession
The recession marks the conclusion of the main ceremony. President Frohnmayer will ask the graduates to recess to individual ceremonies following the main ceremony. The deans, marshals, and standard bearers will lead you.
