Many of the top Duck runners were on hand cheering, but will be front and center next weekend as the championship portion of the season opens with the Pac-10 Championships at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis. The men’s 8K race is at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women’s 6K an hour later.
The No. 1 men’s team enter the meet as defending conference champions.
The women were fourth a year ago and, while they are much improved this year, will face strong competition. The Pac-10 has four of the top nine teams in the country as of the Oct. 16 coaches poll – No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Oregon, No. 5 Arizona State and No. 9 Washington.
