The Student Senate will hold a special meeting Monday night at 7 p.m. There are three surplus requests on the agenda, along with four Executive appointments that will only be heard if 12 senators are present.
The meeting will be used to wrap up fall business and fulfill the requirement that the Senate meet once per month, according to Senate President Athan Papailiou.
ASUO President Emily McLain sent three appointments to senators yesterday for confirmation. Those are executive appointments to the Programs Finance Committee and the Athletic Department Finance Committee and an appointment to the Senate to fill the seat being vacated by Sen. Neil Brown.
A fourth appointment, for an at-large seat on the EMU Board, had not been accepted by the candidate for McLain to pass on to Senate as of 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Senate will hear special requests from the UO American Marketing Association in the amount of $3,160; the Native American Law Student Association in the amount of $3,635; and Students For Choice in the amount of $500.
“Given that it is finals week, I can’t say for certain” if enough senators will be present to hear the appointments, Papailiou said.
ASUO Senate will conclude term with meeting on Monday
