Oregon running back LaMichael James will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft, according to a report by The Oregonian’s Aaron Fentress.
The decision has yet to be confirmed by James himself, and when asked the running back said through a spokesman that he has yet to make a final decision. But Fentress’ report cited “a source inside the Oregon football program” who had knowledge of the situation and expected the running back to leave.
James was named an Associated Press second team All-American earlier today, and also earned a spot on the American Football Coaches Association All-American team after rushing for 1,646 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. His 4,923 career rushing yards rank third in Pac-12 history, and he is the only player ever in the conference to rush for 1,500 yards in three different seasons.
