WEBMASTER
The webmaster is responsible for transferring the Emerald from Quark pages to the Web by 9 a.m. each day, and will be specifically expected to:
— Monitor the Internet for media trends online.
— Work with the online editor regarding the visual design of the online edition.
— Check all links daily to make sure that all are functional.
— Learn how to transfer the Quark documents to the online edition.
— Maintain every aspect of the Emerald’s Web site, including but not limited to the archives, staff box and alumni page.
— Make grammatical and factual corrections to the online edition as
required.
— Monitor the news daily to keep abreast of all issues that need to be
covered and see that no pertinent news is missed.
— Attend required staff meetings.
— Keep regular office hours.
— Set individual goals each term to improve your journalistic skills.
Requirements: Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Oregon when the position begins. Must be able to work about 20 hours per week.
