Eugene police cited a 20-year-old man early Saturday morning after he and three other men tried to force their way into H.P. Barnhart Hall, roughing up a resident assistant in the process, a Department of Public Safety officer said.
Keegan Stover was cited for criminal trespass II and minor in possession of alcohol charges when officers found him standing on the corner of East 11th Avenue and Patterson Street after the incident, DPS officer Lisa Larkin said.
Larkin said an RA reported at 2:36 a.m. that four men tried to enter the building, but because he didn’t recognize them as residents, he asked to see their IDs. Two of the men started pushing him around, and the RA tried to call DPS, she said. One of the men attempted to slap the phone out of his hand before the four fled, she said.
Officers couldn’t find the other three men.
Stover could not be reached for comment.
