The Student Senate is calling for participants to help study the budgeting process currently in effect in the ASUO.
Budgeting review groups will have their first meeting tomorrow at 8 a.m. in the EMU Boardroom.
Senate President Sara Hamilton sent out an e-mail stating, “Over the last few weeks, I believe it has become increasingly obvious that the ASUO budget process has serious flaws.”
Disagreements about the process and continuous criticism from many student groups has prompted Senate to create budgeting review groups charged with determining whether there is a problem with how the ASUO allocates its money, and where any existing problem lies.
“We are all concerned about the future of our organizations, and rightly so, whether it is the ASUO, student programs or contracted services,” Hamilton’s e-mail said. “If you are frustrated with the process, put your energy into changing it.”
The e-mail said those who are unable to fully commit to serving on a review group are still encouraged to participate.
