AOTW: Cam Forni, club hockey
Oregon Daily Emerald: You put up five goals against California. Have you ever had a double hat trick?
Cam Forni: Yeah, but not at this school. I played for Denver University before and I had one then (against Iowa).
ODE: How far will this team go this season?
Forni: We’ll definitely go to nationals. We have amazing defense, and we’re backed by some great goalies and our coach is just phenomenal.
ODE: Describe your role on the team.
Forni: On the ice, I’m kind of the power forward and center. I’m not the prettiest skater or player; I’m kind of like a bull in a china shop. I have a lot of good linemates around me and I’ve been having a lot of goals. In the locker room I’m kind of the guy who tries to lighten the mood.
ODE: If you win a national title this year, what will you do?
Forni: Oh I don’t know. I’d take the trophy with me absolutely everywhere in town, probably. I’d mount on the top of my car and drive it around.
ODE: Best prank you’ve ever pulled?
Forni: You take shaving cream cans, and you freeze them. And you put it in your buddy’s suitcase and as it thaws it expands, and it looks like an ice cream sandwich in your suitcase.
ODE: What was your internship this summer?
Forni: I had an internship in Los Angeles, and I got to live in a $9 million house in the Hollywood Hills. (He lived and worked with entrepreneur Ryan Blair.) I got to meet a lot of celebrities. I got to hang out with Bode Miller, work on Make a Difference with Jessica Biel. I got to go to the ESPYs and movie premieres. I went on a few dates with Audrina (Patridge) from “The Hills.” I went on a date with Haylie Duff, too. I had a lot of fun.
ODE: I heard you got to meet Sean “Diddy” Combs. Who’s better, you at rapping or Diddy at hockey?
Forni: Diddy at hockey. I’m so bad at rapping. I have no rhythm whatsoever. He’d be a showboat. 100 percent showboat. Just trying to do big moves all the time.
