Dead Poets to play WOW Hall
Hard rock group Dead Poets Society will be performing at psychedelic rock band King Black Acid’s CD release party for “The Mothman Prophecies” motion picture soundtrack on Feb. 23 at WOW Hall.
Dead Poets Society is a local electronic-goth act whose performance follows the Jan. 8 release of their second album, “Deprogramming.” In addition to releasing two full-length albums, the group remixed Depeche Mode’s “I Feel Loved” tracks and Madonna’s “Deeper and Deeper” record.
“It’s like we’re the ‘soundtrack band opening band,’” keyboardist and vocalist Raven Nightshado said, referring to a recent performance with The Dragonflies, who had a song on the “Sugar and Spice” movie soundtrack. “It’s really cool. I think it’s great that King Black Acid is finally receiving the national attention they deserve. They are a great band with a very unique sound.”
KWVA’s “Dark Waters” show, which airs Mondays from 9-11 p.m., has recently started spinning the Dead Poets’ newest single, “Synners.”
WOW Hall’s doors open at 9 p.m., and the show begins at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $8 at the door. For more information, call 687-2746.
