Although most renovation around the University has improved buildings and updated classrooms, the newest work on Alder Street has produced a lot of confusion. With the addition of a two-way bike lane and middle-of-the-road parking on the one-way street, drivers have responded with erratic and illegal driving maneuvers. While at the intersection of East 13th Avenue and Alder Street yesterday, I saw a car driving the wrong way in the bike lane of Alder. Although this only confirmed complaints I have heard about the streets, it also made me realize that drivers need to be more educated on the new state of both Alder and 13th.
