Oregon men’s basketball starting point guard Jackson Shelstad intends to enter the transfer portal this offseason after his three seasons with the Ducks, he announced on social media Tuesday. A former four-star in-state recruit, the junior led Oregon as a starter through a Pac-12 Tournament win in 2024 and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances before missing much of the 2025-26 season with injury.
After On3 Sports reported Shelstad’s decision on Tuesday afternoon, he shared a statement to social media.

Though he was injured for most of the 2025-26 season, Shelstad was still a prominent figure in the Ducks lineup since entering the starting lineup as a freshman. Over his three seasons at Oregon, the point guard from West Linn, Oregon put up 1,077 points, 227 rebounds. 240 assists and won multiple awards across both the Big Ten and the Pac-12, including being named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team in 2024 and Third Team All-Big Ten in 2025.

Shelstad is the second Duck to hit the portal in the past two days, following the departure of Kwame Evans Jr. yesterday. The remaining point guard room for the Ducks now lacks NCAA experience: freshmen JJ Frakes and Rian Gonzales and sophomores Wei Lin and Jamari Phillips are left on the roster.
