Dakorien Moore, meet Hayward Field.
Oregon football’s five-star wide receiver is scheduled to compete at the Ducks’ first home track and field meet of the season, the Oregon Team Invitational. A former track and field athlete at Duncanville High School, he’s entered in the invitational long jump. The event is tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday.
“It’s like my secondary sport, literally,” Moore said at an Oregon football media availability on Thursday.
Oregon released a promotional video on its social media Thursday night teasing Moore’s appearance.

Moore, who stands at 5-11 and weighs 195 lbs, went for 497 yards and three touchdowns in his first season in Eugene. He battled an injury over the second half of the year and missed Oregon’s final four regular-season games, but returned to play a part in its three College Football Playoff matchups. In 2024, he jumped 24′ 0.75″ in the event he’ll compete on Friday and ran a 10.51-second 100-meter dash.
“If I’m being honest, I started football and track at the same time,” Moore said. “I was about 5 years old, started football and track, so I actually have a lot of love for it.”
He said he originally intended to participate with the track and field team when he arrived in Eugene, but held off after going through football workouts.
“But, being that I feel like I’m more mature now, I’m able to go out there and fight for what I love,” he said.
As for the long jump?
“Long jump is something that I have most of my love for,” he said. “It’s something that I feel like is my isolation place — something I can step away and just work on my craft individually.”
Oregon hosts the Team Invitational at Hayward Field, continuing both Friday and Saturday. Events begin at 3:10 p.m. on Friday.
