Legislature shoots down conceal carry bill
The issue of conceal carry weapons is a tricky one that should be decided on a community level.@@*shakes head* no@@ The ASUO Senate passed a resolution advocating for such a ban on campus — nearly unanimously — but the fact remains: If the University wishes to set such a policy, it should do it for its own campus.@@uh huh…more campus more wild west, uncivilized than others?@@
Thumbs down
ASUO doesn’t get to work with Office of Student Advocacy
Apparently, in 2009, the ASUO was told it would not be allowed to receive independent policy advice and other similar services from the Office of Student Advocacy.@@http://pages.uoregon.edu/asuoosa/@@ The implications of this move have not yet been fully realized, but as students, we understand how important institutional knowledge is to campus groups.
