For most of us, our bodies can only handle going out so many nights in a row before
they start to collapse. When this happens, it’s time to think about ways to recooperate.
Even though it’s the weekend and it seems like the entire University of Oregon population will have its rage face on, there are several ways you can still have fun and relax if your body simply
can’t take another night of partying.
The first thing to do if you know you’re not able to go out is to call up all of your friends
and see which ones are burnt out, too.@@lol@@ Once you round up a few, invite them over for
a game night. Maybe it’s because I’m such a nerd, but some of my favorite nights have
been spent playing Apples to Apples and Jenga. If you’re up for it, add in some wine
and make it a drinking-game night.
Another alternative to going out is a movie night with baking. Whether that means you
make cookies from scratch or buy cookie dough at Safeway, it doesn’t matter — cookies
are cookies. If baking isn’t your thing, make dinner with your friends instead.
It’s time to open that book you’ve been meaning to read since 2010 if it turns out
you’ll be alone for the evening. No piles of unread literature lying around your room?
Then I suggest anything by David Sedaris (His books are funny and don’t require a lot
of focus, which is good since Eugene will be noisy and distracting) or Mindy Kaling’s “Is
Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns),” which I suppose in this case they are.
