A memorial service for law professor Wayne Westling will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 in Room 175 of the Knight Law School. The memorial is open to the public. An audio feed will be set up in Room 110 in case of an overflow of guests.
Westling’s colleagues will deliver an eulogy at the service, and anyone can write a letter or message to be collected at the service and compiled in a book for the family.
Westling died Aug. 17 of cancer at the age of 58. He was a member of the National Institute For Trial Practice, and had a reputation as a professor with the unique ability to show his students how their classroom studies applied in the real-life courtroom.
Members of the law school are in the planning stages of establishing a Westling Prize in Trial Practice charity.
For more information about the service, contact Debbie Thurman at 346-3821.
