For the first time in 12 years, a Lane County Circuit Court election will have more than one candidate for circuit court judge.
The four candidates – Beverly Anderson, James Chaney, Alan Leiman and Debra Vogt – will participate in a forum today in 110 Knight Law Center at noon, where they will answer questions from both a faculty moderator and the audience.
“Whether you’re litigating or in court for some other reason, you’ll be in court in front of the winner of this election,” said Edward Kroll, a law student who helped plan the forum organized by the Criminal Law Association.
Typically only 10-25 percent of registered voters participate in judicial elections, Kroll said.
