Intellectuals can show their wild side this weekend at the “Great Cover-Up,” an evening of rock ‘n’ roll featuring groups of graduate students and other local musicians covering their favorite bands.
The show and fundraiser for Food for Lane County is being put on by the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation, a student union at the University. Listeners can hear covers songs of the Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Tom Waits, Neko Case and Joy Division.
The music starts Friday, 9:30 p.m., at Luckey’s Bar. Admission is $6, or $5 with a can of food.
