The No. 31 Oregon men’s golf team completed its trip to the 2009 NCAA Championships yesterday afternoon at the Inverness Golf Course in Toledo, Ohio. The Ducks finished in 22nd overall, with freshman Daniel Miernicki leading the way in a tie for 37th overall (75-71-73-219) in the 156-player field.
Freshmen Eugene Wong and Andrew Vijarro followed in a tie for 90th and 108th, respectively, while sophomore Isaiah Telles tied for 115th and freshman Robbie Ziegler ended at 142nd.
The eight teams moving on to match play include: No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 13 Arizona State, No. 3 USC, No. 10 Arkansas, No. 4 Washington, No. 39 Michigan, No. 15 Texas A&M, and No. Georgia. The champion will be crowned tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting.
