Floater will perform Friday at the McDonald Theatre, located at 1010 Willamette St. Originally formed in Eugene in 1993, the band consists of Robert Wynia on lead vocals and bass, Peter Cornett on drums and Dave Amador on guitar.
Floater’s first full-length album, “Sink,” was released in 1994. That year, according to the band’s Web site, Floater began a string of sold out shows at the WOW Hall. The group released “Glyph” in 1995, followed by “Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the Bone” in 1998 and “Burning Sosobra” in 2000.
Floater continued to produce
albums and in 2002 came out with “Alter,” which band members
describe as their most critically acclaimed album to date. The group’s latest album, an acoustic one appropriately titled “Acoustics,” was released in 2004.
Tickets are currently on sale online at mcdonaldtheatre.com and at all TicketsWest outlets. Prices are $12 in advance. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. The show is open to all ages.
