Mark Hudson and Yasir Rosemond have found solid coaching positions in the Oregon men’s basketball program. Hudson, who has served as the director of operations for the past four seasons, was elevated to assistant men’s basketball coach. He has been with head coach Ernie Kent in some form for the past nine seasons.
“I have been looking for the opportunity to bring Mark Hudson back over to the coaching side,” Kent said. “He is someone who is extremely familiar with what we do here, and I know he is looking forward to getting back to on-floor coaching again, and he’ll continue to be involved with recruiting and many of his behind-the-scenes duties.”
Rosemond has been named director of operations in Hudson’s place.
“Yasir has the unique perspective of having played not only at this level, but also in our system,” Kent said. “He understands what it takes to succeed at Oregon and that will be invaluable to our players on the floor.”
Rosemond played for Kent at Oregon from 1997-99 and was hired as an assistant coach at Portland State University last spring after coaching the past two seasons at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma. The opportunity to reunite with his alma mater was too good to pass up.
“I think Yasir is going to make an outstanding assistant coach someday, and having him as our director of operations will help him learn what it takes to be a successful coach at this level,” Kent said.
