The woman who was struck by a car Wednesday evening near the corner of East 18th Avenue and University Street was released from Sacred Heart Medical Center Saturday morning with what she described as a broken left arm, a broken pelvic bone and eight stitches in the head.
Angie Kim, a third year University student studying public relations, said she stayed in the emergency room Wednesday night before undergoing surgery on her left arm, which she said is broken in two places.
“My forearm got snapped in half,” Kim said. “Basically, my arm was in two different positions.”
Retired University political science professor James Klonoski’s Toyota Camry struck Kim while Klonoski was driving west on East 18th Avenue Wednesday evening.
Kim said she did not know any details about who was driving or what happened until she saw the Emerald’s Jan. 13 article.
She said she is under the advice of her attorney to refrain from discussing any details of the accident because of possible legal action.
“We’re not quite sure what’s going to happen,” Kim said.
