Online democracy
kicks off Wednesday
The power to shape next year’s student government is at students’ fingertips with DuckWeb online voting when ASUO primary elections begin Wednesday.
A platoon of eager students have turned out to run for office in nearly every facet of ASUO
government, from the ASUO
Executive to ASUO Student
Senate and ASUO Programs Finance Committee.
The virtual voting booth opens at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and runs through 5 p.m. on Friday.
Students who want to exercise their constitutional right to vote can log onto DuckWeb from any computer with Internet access.
To vote for their preferred candidates, students simply need to click on DuckWeb and log on with their User ID and Personal Access Code. From the Main Menu, voters must then click on the Student Menu. Then, click on the 2003 ASUO Primary Election link.
Voting electronically via DuckWeb entails computerized vote tallying, so election results will
be determined almost instantaneously after voting closes at 5 p.m. Friday.
