Takai Simpkins led the way with 20 points on 6-11 shooting while Jackson Shelstad added 22 points, eight assists and three steals. It’s the first comprehensive victory of the season for Oregon and the Ducks move to 3-0. Program record of threes attempted today with 40.

Threes from Evans, Shelstad and Simpkins on consecutive possessions prevented Oregon from blowing a lead that got as close as one. Shelstad up to 16 points on 6-16 shooting for the night. Ducks have put up 38 threes, which is their most in almost two years.

Some really poor offensive possessions for Oregon have led to a 15-5 stretch for SDSU over the last five minutes. It’s once again anyone’s game after Oregon failed to capitalize on a chance to pull ahead.

Bittle is the focal point of Oregon’s offense, as the Jackrabbits are getting more tired as they keep defending him so aggressively. Oregon has an opportunity to stretch this lead.

Oregon failed to score on its first three possessions of the half, but a Bittle three has inspired them in the last few minutes. The Ducks are playing much harder on defense and are moving the ball much more on offense.

Simpkins leads the way with 12 points and Bittle has 11 along with six rebounds and a block. South Dakota State has shown flashes of offense but never enough to cut into the lead.

SDSU just stopped a 9-2 Oregon run and look poised to cut into the Ducks’ lead before halftime. Bittle leads the way on both ends and Shelstad continues to be the offensive engine.

Oregon shooting it at a 46 percent clip so far, which is a primary factor to the lead as of now. The Ducks still need to clean up the non-Shelstad minutes, but defense has looked solid, but slightly over-aggressive at times.
