The city of Eugene has selected an outside company to review the city’s cultural policy and identify ways to assist the Eugene City Council in defining the city’s role in arts and culture.
The management consulting firm Wolf, Keens & Co. was picked from a field of four competing companies to work with the city’s Cultural Policy Review Committee to increase awareness of the city’s arts and culture, create an inventory of cultural arts and activities in Eugene and identify sources for future funding.
The review is part of City Council’s priority to promote Eugene as the “World’s Greatest City for the Arts and the Outdoors.”
The committee, appointed in April by Mayor Kitty Piercy, is expected to hold its first meeting in June.
The City Council budgeted $125,000 per year for all expenses during a two-year period.
