Students preparing to take either the Law School Admission Test or the Medical College Admission Test may now review the test sites where the exams are administered, according to Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions.
Kaplan compiled a database on testing sites after surveying more than 12,000 LSAT test takers at 372 sites and 9,000 MCAT test takers at 323 sites nationwide. The test sites were rated on factors that may affect test performance, ranging from room temperature and test group size to desk sizes and chair types.
On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being best, the University’s MCAT site ranked a 4.25, and its LSAT site ranked a 4.03, according to Kaplan’s Web site. The University of Portland ranked among the top five testing sites for the MCAT with an average score of 4.80, while Concordia University in Portland ranked as the best site in Oregon for the LSAT, with an average score of 4.39.
“While the key to test success is preparation, the impact of site-related issues can be substantial,” said Executive Director of Research at Kaplan, Jeff Olson. “We strongly encourage students to thoroughly research their options before registering for their exams.”
