More than 380 middle school students of color from across Oregon will be on the University campus Saturday to design multimedia projects, perform science experiments, explore career possibilities and experience college life.
As part of the “Reach for Success” event, University faculty, administrators and graduate students will teach the students during mini-courses in biology, chemistry, physics, dance and art.
University students will volunteer as mentors and coordinators for the participants.
The event begins at the EMU at 9:30 a.m. with a blessing performance by Soaring Hawk, a Native American drum group. The event ends at 3 p.m.
