Senior Galen Rupp continued etching his name into the Oregon record books by wining the mile in a school-record 3:57.86 on Saturday at the Husky Last Chance Qualifier in Seattle.
The senior from Portland, Ore., bested freshman teammate Matthew Centrowitz’s mark of 3:57.92, set three weeks ago. The school indoor mile record has been broken three times this season.
Rupp holds NCAA automatic qualifying times at 3,000m and 5,000m, in addition to the mile.
Two other Ducks improved on provisional qualifying times at the Husky Last Chance Qualifier: junior A.J. Acosta (mile, 4:00.11) and junior Nicole Blood (mile, personal-best 4:39.61).
