The young Oregon men’s golf team completed their first day of competition at the Pacific-10 Conference Championship tournament yesterday evening at the Seattle Golf Course in Seattle, Wash.
The Ducks had four freshmen make their Pac-10 tournament debuts while sophomores Jack Dukeminier and Isaiah Telles each made their second career appearance. Freshman Daniel Miernicki paced the Oregon squad through the first day of action after shooting a 3-under 69 during the second round, which was good enough to tie for second place.
Telles and freshman Eugene Wong were both shortly behind in seventh place, only three strokes behind the leader. Freshman Robbie Ziegler was the Ducks third leading scorer on the day as he tied for 19th. Oregon sits in second place overall in the team standings, only four strokes behind the No. 6 Washington Huskies. Action will continue throughout the day today as well as tomorrow.
