Thursday kicked off the first of four consecutive farmers markets hosted by the ASUO this fall. The Gathering Together Farm from Philomath, Ore. and Slo Farm from Eugene both came out to provide students, faculty and staff with fresh, sustainable produce to buy. John Eveland, owner of Gathering Together Farm, has been running the farm for more than 20 years.
The farm grows more than 40 types of vegetables in more than 100 different varieties. The Slo Farm, started by Tom Murray, has been running for about 7 years. It is located near Mt. Pisgah and focuses on growing orchard fruit. Both have committed their careers to farming and love what they do.
