Planned Parenthood will commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court
ruling with music, spoken word performances and a speech by Mayor Kitty Piercy on Saturday, Jan. 22.
Eugene folk artist Laura Kemp will perform, as well as spoken word artists Jorah La Fleur and Marietta Bonaventure. The event will be hosted by the newly sworn in city councilor, Andrea Ortiz.
Rose Kelsch, field director for the Eugene branch of Planned Parenthood, expects about 350 people to
attend, including politicians,
students, clergy and others that
she calls “a small picture of the
pro-choice majority in our state.”
The celebration begins at 6 p.m. and will be free, though donations are suggested. All proceeds from the event will go to Eugene Planned
Parenthood community programs.
