Why are you attending UO?
My brother went to school here so I already had a social network kind of built in because of him. It’s also a nice buffer zone between me and the parents, but still close enough for me to easily go home. I also love being in the honors college – It’s great.
How/why do you want to change the world?
I want to shed light on how society, on a psychological level, primes people to be inherently judgemental. I think it is important to recognize our biases and how our lived experiences inform who we are. We can fight that, but only if we recognize it.
What has been the best part of your college experience?
My favorite part has been meeting people from all over the country.
What are you proud to have been involved with at UO?
I’m involved with sexual violence prevention on campus, I worked on the Hillary campaign, I’m in a fraternity, and I am a counselor at Camp Kesem.
What are some of your goals after college?
I would really like to get my PhD in psychology to do my own research.
Who’s your biggest role model/influencer?
My music director Joe Crnko and my older brother have both been huge influences in my life.
Which fictional character is most like yourself?
People tell me I’m like Chandler Bing. I don’t know if that’s true, but I’ll take it.
What is one fun fact about you?
I was a 1st tenor in this singing group in Seattle called Vocal Point. We’ve been featured on tons of movie soundtracks and things like that. It was one of the best experiences of my life, being in that group.
