In Thursday’s Emerald, ASUO President Ben Eckstein is quoted as saying, “One of the people who recently added his voice (to the list of opponents to the EMU location for a concert hall) was Bob Berdahl.”
This is not correct. As a newcomer to campus, I expressed surprise that the concert hall would be in the EMU and not near the School of Music and wondered whether the EMU was the right location for it. I have, however, never “opposed” that location.
As I have learned more about the reasons for the concert hall being located in the EMU and the purposes it hopes thereby to achieve, I support the decision.
