Instead of having to sit out the 2010 season, why can’t Jeremiah Masoli play football in 2010 but in exchange pay a very substantial fine?
The fine would be a certain percentage of his NFL signing bonus, and maybe a certain percentage would have to be negotiated by Masoli and University President Richard Lariviere.
The money might go to set up the Jeremiah Masoli Scholarship Fund to give academic (not athletic) scholarships to low-income, high-potential students.
These students would be known as Jeremiah Masoli Scholars.
This idea seems win-win-win. Now, the biggest losers are Duck fans.
