Winter term is here. From the comfort of our families’ couches, it seemed like something simply looming in the distance. With a month-long break, it was easy to forget just how hard school can be at times. Our brain successfully produces a chemical causing us to forget the war torn battle field that was finals week and 2K16 as a whole. To glide through winter term and end it with a slam dunk, you are going to have to keep cool. When you have the time to relax, you are going to need to channel that winter break mentality and power all the way down so you can fully recharge. What is the best way to do that? Drape yourself in comfort, from the clothes you wear to the food you eat. Let me tell you, nothing says comfort more than cafe dining.
Cafe Vero – For the Romantic
When you are in the heart of an exam week, sometimes you don’t have time to run out and grab coffee and food. If that is the case, then why not just take up residence at a cafe? At Vero you can do exactly that. Vero looks more like a bed and breakfast than a coffee shop. The owners have converted a beautiful home into an even more beautiful eaterie. Whether you are sitting on their sprawling front porch and reading the paper or feverishly pouring over the books at one of their many available tables, you can’t help but be charmed by the homey feel and the lush fragrance of coffee.
Vero is located at 205 E 14th Ave Eugene, OR

Never will have you felt more a part of the Oregon community than when you are tucked into a corner of Roma surrounded by a hundred other students all striving towards the same goal of accomplishment. With an ample amount of room, it’s the perfect place to meet with a group or to spend all day hiding in one of its many corners. Roma makes sandwiches and smoothies in addition to a full coffee bar and sprawling selection of pastries.

GJ’s Diner – For a Home-Cooked Meal
Sometimes you need more than a place to drink coffee and have intellectual conversations. Sometimes you need the diner with the squeaky faux-leather booths, the heavy ceramic plates, and mountains of delicious, hot and heavy food which can lift any spirit – whether you are hungover, sick or are just in need of a little home cooking. If you are looking for the more classic diner experience, then GJ’s is the place for you. It would be impossible to eat one of their meals and not be satisfied. If you want a big breakfast but don’t want to break the bank, GJ’s has plenty of options in your price range, all of which will make you want to curl up on the couch with a taut tummy and relax the day away. Yours truly once ate their breakfast burrito and was full for two days.
GJ’s is located at 1563 W 6th Ave Eugene, OR
