The postseason is almost here.
No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling held its second-overall ranking following its regular-season-ending loss to No. 1 Baylor University on April 6. The Ducks are likely locked into the second-overall seed, with a win earlier this season over No. 3 Quinnipiac University on their resume and no losses to teams other than the Bears.
The only change in the top eight places was a swap between No. 5 and 6. Augustana University jumped Iona University.
If the postseason started today, the Ducks would match up with No. 7 Gannon University in the quarterfinal round of the NCATA Championships, with the winner of that meet progressing to face the winner of No. 3 Quinnipiac vs. No. 6 Iona. Oregon defeated Gannon at home earlier this season in their second-highest scoring performance of the season.
The Ducks’ loss to Baylor came largely in the team event, where they fell twice on tumbling passes and failed to make up a pre-meet start value differential which favored the Bears. The top two seeds’ only potential meeting in the postseason format would come in the championship meet.
The final bracket will be released April 13.
