On first-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Simmons fumbles the snap but recovers. On second-and-goal, he goes play-action and Lance Mason snags the score and jogs in. One of the crowd in the student section with shirts off waves his top in disappointment. Badgers have their first touchdown since the first quarter of Week 6 against Michigan, and first point since the fourth quarter of that game.

A long, 42-yard completion to Eugene Hilton Jr. over Dillon Thieneman’s head gets Wisconsin on the 1-yard line, on the verge of its first score in almost three games. Aaron Flowers made the tackle, and Ducks call timeout.

After 6 plays go 31 yards, Wisconsin tries a fourth-and-4 conversion from the Oregon 47-yard line — it essentially has to at this point. They convert for Hunter Simmons’ second conversion of the day. 10:41 and counting left in the quarter. Next play is blown dead for holding, and the Badgers back up near midfield.

Davison eats a tackle on first-and-goal to get down to the 1-yard line with unreal balance. With a fullback in, it’s offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson who catches his (SECOND!) career touchdown pass, this time from Brock Thomas off play action. Ducks lead, 21-0.

Ducks get bailed out twice after a long throw slips through Jamari Johnson’s hands. It’s pass interference on Wisconsin safety Austin Brown (declined) and roughing the passer with targeting on linebacker Darryl Peterson III. Oregon sets up, first-and-10, at Wisconsin’s 37-yard line and Dierre Hill Jr. steams down the right sideline for 27 yards.

The third quarter ends, and Oregon is sitting on the 10-yard line up 14-0 when Ty Burrell walks out to ask Autzen Stadium if it wants to dance.

Badgers go nowhere, as has become their thing today. Ball came out on third down, but Wisconsin recovers and punts to Oregon’s 36-yard line. Let’s do it again!

A crazy third-and-11 went through the Wisconsin DB’s hands and landed with Dakorien Moore, but Thomas couldn’t handle the first-and-10 snap and the Ducks go nowhere afterward. Punt unit comes back out, down to the 4-yard line. Have a day, James Ferguson-Reynolds.

Whittington goes on another long trot down the sideline — initially 70 yards to the Wisconsin 17-yard line, but it’s brought back under official review. He stepped out near midfield, and Oregon gets the ball on its own 49-yard line instead. Still explosive, and big for the Ducks offense. Brock Thomas also still in at quarterback for the Ducks, for what it’s worth.

Wisconsin starts moving the ball, a little, but goes five plays for 16 yards and punts to the Oregon 12-yard line. Hunter Simmons is now 1-12, 12 yards, 16.7 QBR. Oregon leads, 14-0, with 10:14 left in Q3.

On third-and-9, Thomas (still in for Moore) zips one to Dakorien Moore. Flags fly — one for offsides, one after the play for a personal foul on Oregon center Iapani Laloulu. Ducks end up up in first-and-10…on the 20-yard line instead of the 5-yard line.

It doesn’t matter, because Davison eats up all of them and leans over the goal line for Oregon’s second touchdown of the day. Is the offense awake?

On the first second-half play from scrimmage, Noah Whittington breaks through and rumbles for 35 yards to the Wisconsin 40-yard line before carrying again for 10 more on the next play. Oregon more than matched its first half net rushing total (39, now 85) on two plays. Dante Moore shaken up a little on the QB keeper on first down, walks off and into the medical tent.

Wisconsin chooses to kick out of the back of the endzone (no onside, come on) and Oregon will start the second half with the ball.

In an offensively-inept first half, the Ducks finally got the ball moving on a drive inside the final two minutes after a turnover on downs and three straight punts to open the game. Wisconsin couldn’t get it going either, and true freshman back Jordon Davison is up to 49 yards on nine carries after punching in the only score of the half on a 16-play, 8:24, 99-yard drive that started back on the Oregon goal line.

Dante Moore is 9-15 for 89 yards, including a couple long completions to Jeremiah McClellan and a tight end screen to Jamari Johnson that went for 23 yards on the touchdown drive. Badgers are hanging in this one through a combination of a just-good-enough rushing attack that’s getting real pushback on this Oregon defensive line and benefiting off Ducks mistakes. Oregon has five penalties for 25 yards. Badgers QB Hunter Simmons is 1-9 for 12 yards.

Oregon will get the ball out of the break (who knows though, Badgers might go onside too).

After Davison runs them inside the red zone, then inside the 10-yard line by force of will, the Ducks were backed up to the 9-yard line on an encroachment penalty. Kenyon Sadiq got it back to the 2-yard line on second down, and Davison hopped over a couple of sets of arms to punch it in. First points, finally, go to the Ducks with 1:07 left in the first half.

Oregon finally gets something going on a tight end screen to Jamari Johnson, who rumbles for 23 yards to the Badgers’ 33-yard line. False start backs the Ducks up. One step forward, one step back.

Redshirt-freshman Jeremiah McClellan got the Ducks out of third-and-6 on their own goal line with an 18-yard reception from Dante Moore. Then, Jordon Davison gets back-to-back seven and 11-yard carries to put the Ducks near midfield (then, a scary tipped ball for Moore almost gets snagged).

Big-time PBU from Aaron Flowers on third-and-17 after the Badgers get backed up by a holding penalty and an incomplete throwback screen. Punt ensues for the Badgers after a delay-of-game penalty backs them up five yards. It’s downed on the one-yard line. Big challenge coming for an Oregon offense that hasn’t shown an ability to run the ball yet.

Back-to-back first-down runs result in first-down gains for Gideon Ituka to kick off the Badgers’ drive. Teitum Tuioti gets him at the line next time they try, but Cade Yacamelli gets them into third-and-2 with his next gain. Ituka gets one yard, Badgers challenge, but he’s called short. Wisconsin goes heavy on fourth down, gets it easily after Bryce Boettcher can’t wrap up. Hunter Simmons is still 1-7 for 12 yards, but it’s the ground game keeping them on the field.

Not a great first quarter for either side — but the Badgers stifled the Oregon offense to the tune of 21 net yards (-17 on the ground, which is where the real issue has been). Oregon is 1-5 on third down, which it’s getting to almost every series. Two sacks, four TFLs for Wisconsin, which is thriving in the rain.

Kenyon Sadiq got beat on first down for a two-yard Whittington loss. Screen on second down is tipped and incomplete. Given a ton of time, Dante Moore bails from the pocket on third-and-12 and throws high of Dakorien Moore.

False start backs up the Ducks further on fourth down. Sloppy execution all over today.

Oregon tries to get the run going, but gets nothing going right on first down with Whittington, nothing on a quick pass to Dakorien Moore on second — but then a huge completion to Jeremiah McClellan on third-and-10 for 20 yards. Oregon, set up near midfield, takes a break for a Badgers timeout.

Real Big Ten football here. Badgers get it moving on the ground, but stall and Dillon Thieneman has a superb pass breakup (near-interception) to force the punt. Ducks have three net yards, Badgers have 46. No points yet.

My computer went down, but what you missed: an Oregon punt that was called for illegal touching, re-punted to the Wisconsin 1-yard line. Then, a first-down stuff that looked like a safety, went to review and was called down on the half-yard line. Badgers get the completion on third-and-3 and get off the goal line.

Oregon, after a first down, tries third-and-5. Isaiah World gets beat outside, though, and gets called for a facemask anyway. Ducks punt, without much to show for it. Tough going so far.

Wisconsin got nothing on third-and-8 after Jerry Mixon came through the B-gap on a blitz and hurried Hunter Simmons into a throw off his back foot. Punt, and Oregon ball again on its own 17-yard line after the break.

Oregon gets to fourth-and-3 right away, decides to go. Dante Moore has time in the pocket, but can’t find an option and is sacked by Mason Reiger. Really getting it all on the first drive.

Oregon won the toss and deferred to the second half. The Ducks go BIG, and sart with an onside kick…and RECOVER. Autzen Stadium is loud. Ducks on the field first. Wow. Na’eem Offord recovered.

Oregon’s injury report is mostly as-expected, with the addition of cornerback Sione Laulea and running back Da’Jaun Riggs. Jayden Limar is out for the second-straight week.
