California State University Long Beach’s Jake Evans has committed to Oregon, he announced via his Instagram page. Evans, a rising junior from Los Alamitos High School in California, hit .364 with three home runs and a .483 OBP in 2026. Evans played primarily in the infield last season and projects as a top-of-the-lineup bat for an Oregon team that has lost other key contributors to the portal.

Oregon catcher Burke-Lee Mabeus is set to enter the transfer portal according to a report from Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball. The 6’4″ catcher finished the 2026 season with a .286 average, 13 doubles, 8 homers and 31 RBIs in 205 at-bats. Mabeus joins Collin Clarke, Naulivou Lauaki Jr. and Angel Laya as key contributors to leave the program following the end of the 2026 season. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Oregon utility player Naulivou Lauaki Jr. has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. The redshirt freshman was a pivotal player for the Ducks in the 2026 baseball season, emerging as an offensive threat in 41 games.

Lauaki Jr. started 31 contests and saw his playing time increase throughout the season. He smashed 14 home runs while posting seven doubles and driving in 37 runs. Lauki Jr. was a rising star for the Ducks and looked to be a mainstay in the lineup going forward.

Lauki Jr. joins teammates pitcher Collin Clarke and outfielder Angel Laya as contributors to enter the portal over the last week.

After emerging as a freshman phenom throughout the 2026 season, Oregon outfielder Angel Laya is set to enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Laya, one of head coach Mark Wasikowski’s most steady bats and pillars for the future, slashed .296/.396/.538 with a .934 OPS while blasting an Oregon freshman record 14 home runs. Laya is the fourth Duck to enter the portal this offseason, joining infielders Tyler Holley and Blake Sandvik as well as right-handed pitcher Collin Clarke. 

After appearing in just nine games this season, Tyler Holley is heading for greener pastures, according to Ducks Wire. The redshirt-sophomore struggled to break into the lineup with just one start against Gonzaga University. He had a .125 batting average with one hit, a two-run double against Northwestern on March 20. Holley had transferred to Oregon following a stint at Cal State Fullerton where he had a much more prominent role with 13 starts in 20 games.

According to Over-Slot Baseball, pitcher Collin Clarke has hit the transfer portal. The junior was one of the Ducks key starters all season until a drop in performance moved him into the bullpen heading into the postseason. He had a 4.96 career ERA with 151 strikeouts since his freshman year in 2024.

Sometimes teams like poaching players from teams they beat, and Wasikowski did just that by bringing in infielder Carter Johnstone from Vanderbilt. The sophomore started 12 games out of 18 total appearances at second base alongside his brother, right fielder Logan Johnstone. Johnstone’s stats from his one year at Vandy don’t paint the full picture with a measly .143 batting average and 2 RBI, but during his time at Cal State Fullerton, he started 53 games with a .344 batting average with seven home runs and 42 RBI.

Johnstone brings some depth to an already strong Oregon infield that could lose some key pieces in Ryan Cooney and Maddox Molony if they choose to turn pro anytime soon. He probably wont be a day one starter, but could find a spot in the lineup like Naulivou Lauaki Jr. and Brayden Jaksa did this past year.
