Eugene Police Department spokesperson Melinda McLaughlin said Friday that an altercation over a barking dog led to a stabbing inside Nephos Vape Shop.
Per McLaughlin, a 32-year-old victim was attempting to make a purchase when a dispute over his barking dog occurred, leading to the stabbing. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 39-year-old shortly after the incident at 13th Avenue and Alder Street, a block away from the shop. He is being held at the Lane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

A suspect is in custody following a reported stabbing on Hilyard Street.
The incident occurred inside the Nephos Vape Shop at 1333 Hilyard St.
Eugene Police Department spokesperson Melinda McLaughlin said a suspect is in custody after fleeing the scene.
The incident followed a verbal altercation, according to McLaughlin. At least one person has been transported to RiverBend hospital.
