Oregon’s season ends at the hands of the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers, who led from the very first play from scrimmage and never let up. Indiana moves on to the National Championship game in Miami, where it will face the No. 10 University of Miami Hurricanes. It was a night to forget for Ducks’ quarterback Dante Moore, who finished with a pick-6 and two fumbles lost, which led to 21 points for Indiana. Oregon will lick its wounds and finish the season 13-2 with two playoff victories.

Oregon’s defense collapses over the middle and allows Kaelon Black to tear through for a 23-yard score.

Mendoza to Sarratt again. Oregon’s defense cannot contend with the short field and the Hoosiers deliver another short strike to Elijah Sarratt over the middle for three yards. Full system collapse for Lanning and co.

The Ducks are getting destroyed in every facet of the game. After another uninspired offensive possession, Oregon failed to get the punt off against the Hoosiers, who blocked it and are set up at the seven.

Oregon strung together a few positive plays, but when it came down to the crucial play, the Ducks fell short yet again.

Jay Harris punches it in from the two-yard line after a defensive pass interference. Two-point conversion complete to Jamari Johnson. Likely consolation for the Ducks, but could this spark something?

On the Ducks’ first offensive play of the second half, Hill takes a rush down to the Hoosier four-yard line.

Mendoza finds EJ Williams Jr. on a 13-yard score. The Ducks cannot stop the Hoosiers, who just ripped another six-minute, double-digit play drive for a touchdown.

The Hoosiers are doing whatever they want. Fernando Mendoza is on his spot, and Oregon can’t get out of its own way. Hard to see a way back in this one for the Ducks. Stat of the half: 21 points off three turnovers for Indiana — consider that a 42-point swing the wrong way. Will be interested to see what the second half looks like in this one.

Oregon pushed the Hoosiers to 3rd and goal, but Mendoza found Elijah Sarratt for a 2 yard score on a quick in-route. The Ducks now face an almost insurmountable deficit.

The right side of the line collapses and Moore is stripped and sacked at the Oregon 20. The Hoosiers take over.

This is getting ugly. Mendoza cannot be stopped and throws a strike to Charlie Becker for 36 yards. Mendoza is 8-9 with 102 and two touchdowns.

After a Dante Moore sack on 2nd-and-3 set up 3rd-and-12, Moore was sacked yet again for a loss of six. It’s Oregon’s 18th sack surrendered on the season. Indiana returned James Ferguson-Reynolds’ punt 16 yards to the Hoosier 39.

Kaelon Black rushes for 1 yard and the score. Hoosiers picked the ball up at the 3 and used as many plays to punch it into the end zone. Oregon puts itself in a deep hole yet again, and have practically surrendered 14 points on offense.

Nasir Wyatt gets home on 3rd-and-7 (or 3rd-and-Nas), strips Mendoza but the Ducks fail to recover. Mendoza is then sacked in the scramble by Wyatt for an officIal loss of 20 yards. Indiana had been driving until that point, but the sack forced the Hoosiers to punt. Ducks take over at their 13.

Oregon fails to convert on 3rd-and-2 after a Jay Harris loss of one yard, which leads to a punt on fourth down. Hoosiers take over at their own 18.

Feels weird to say, but this could be worse. The pick-six was bad, but Oregon looked strong on that long drive for the touchdown. The defense hasn’t been able to touch Fernando Mendoza yet, and he’s spinning the ball, but the offense is moving the ball on the ground. Obviously not how Oregon would’ve wanted this one to start, but it has a chance to get this back even after the quarter break. Jay Harris with 19 rushing yards on six carries, two catches for 17 yards.

Also, this is an Indiana home game (if that hadn’t been noted yet). Urban Meyer just got booed.

Indiana drives back down the field with 11 plays over six-and-a-half minutes and capitalized on Oregon’s lack of pass defense with an 8-yard score to Omar Cooper Jr. Fernando Mendoza went 4-4 for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Moore finds Jamari Johnson for a 19-yard strike up the right hash on 3rd-and-12. The Ducks go 14 plays for 75 yards in a seven-and-a-half minute drive. Ducks fire right back after giving up a pick-6 on the opening play from scrimmage.

Ducks are 2-2 on third down on this drive and Moore has racked up 31 yards on four completions and Jay Harris has 17 yards on his four carries.

On the first play from scrimmage, Ducks’ quarterback Dante Moore dropped back and threw it into double coverage. It was picked off by D’Angelo Ponds and taken back from the 25 into the end zone.

Oregon got the ball — like it has all year — after the Hoosiers won the toss and deferred. Jeremiah McClellan and Kilohana Haasenritter are back for the kickoff. Dierre Hill Jr. is Oregon’s starting running back.

Brayden Platt, the linebacker who is an auxiliary option for the Ducks at running back today, will wear 3.

Noah Whittington is officially a game-time decision for the Ducks. He’s out there warming up right now with the running backs (alongside Kilohana Haasenritter and Brayden Platt, for what it’s worth). No other surprises for the Ducks. 90 minutes to kickoff.
