“You don’t PLAY wrestling…”
Some sports ask for more than just athletic ability. In the UO Wrestling Club, members are tested both physically and emotionally the moment they step out on the mat. Wrestling is a battle of both strength and resiliency, but these UO students aren’t afraid to take down the challenge.
Watch to find out if you have what it takes to be a member of one of the grittiest clubs at the University of Oregon.

By the way, head coach Leonard Simon was a standout wrestler for the Ducks in the late 1970s, back when Oregon was a top 20 NCAA wrestling program. The history of Oregon wrestling is long and proud, with multiple Olympians and world team members. They crowned their last NCAA champion in 2006. In July of 2007, interim AD Pat Kilkenny announced the dropping of the varsity wrestling program, and 2008 was the final season. Wrestling is one of the top prep sports in America and in Oregon. I look forward to seeing University of Oregon wrestling return with NCAA programs for both men and women.
