Blessyn McMorris just keeps building.
The fifth-year base took home Athlete of the Week honors in the wake of No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling’s win over No. 15 Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu last Wednesday. It’s her second win in the category this season, and third all-time. That tally now ranks joint-most in Oregon history, tied with current Ducks head coach Taylor Susnara and Krista Phillips. McMorris was part of Oregon’s 9.95-point open pyramid against the Sharks, plus seven other heats and team event.
Sophomore tumbler Morgan Willingham was named an honorable mention in the specialist of the week category, after she scored 9.875 in her six-element pass.
Oregon faces No. 1 Baylor on April 6 in Eugene.
