An NCATA weekly award is heading to Eugene for the second-straight week.
Fifth-year base Blessyn McMorris is adding a Specialist of the Week award to her trophy cabinet following No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling’s (2-1) loss to No. 1 Baylor University last weekend. McMorris, who was previously named Freshman of the Year in 2022 and an All American in 2025, was a vital part of the Ducks’ pyramid event, which averaged 9.88 points and thrust the team back into the meet against the Bears.
It’s her second Specialist of the Week award this season — she also took home the trophy in Week 1 following the Ducks’ win over Missouri State University for contributions in the same event.
Week 3 Athlete of the Week Ashlyn Parlett, who midbased the open pyramid alongside McMorris, was named an honorable mention in the category in Week 4. Baylor top/tumbler Payton Washington won the overall award. Freshman Nyla Lassiter turned in a strong performance, including a 9.60 in 450 Salto toss, and was named an honorable mention for Freshman of the Week. The overall category was won by Baylor freshman base Mo Arthur.
The Ducks are in Eugene on Friday night to face No. 9 Gannon (3-1). The meet is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT.
