A man who the Department of Public Safety says is a trespasser with an outstanding warrant was arrested by DPS outside of the EMU today at 11:15 p.m.
DPS said the man, who is banned from University grounds, was given the opportunity by DPS to pass through campus as long as he did not stop. When he proceeded to stop to smoke a cigarette and dig through a trash can, a DPS officer confronted and arrested the man. The officer then discovered that he had outstanding warrant for his arrest; he was immediately taken to jail.
DPS was unable to give a name of the man at the time of the arrest.
