— Oregon volleyball lost to No. 2 Stanford Cardinal in a sweep of three sets, but brought in the second largest attendance in program history, with 5,872 people on Friday night. Back in Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday, the Ducks redeemed themselves and ended their two-match losing streak with a three-set win over the California Golden Bears.
— Oregon’s 2018 football recruiting class is heading into uncharted territory. The Ducks flipped four-star quarterback Tyler Shough, a UNC commit, on Saturday just days after Shough visited Oregon’s campus. Oregon’s 2018 recruiting class is now ranked as high as No. 1 by some recruiting sites.
— Oregon football played their first game without starting quarterback Justin Herbert, who left last week’s game with a fractured collarbone, and instead relied on freshman Braxton Burmeister. The young playcaller finished 15-of-27 for 145 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions as the Ducks fells to No. 11 Washington State, 33-10.
— Men’s tennis competed in the team’s first pair of tournaments, making final four appearances in both, but ultimately falling short of the championships. Junior Thomas Laurent made Oregon program history, being the first Duck to reach the final four match in the ITA All-American Championship. The Boise Invitational had similar results from the rest of the team, with two doubles pair advancing to the final four and one pair making it as far as the semi-finals.
— Oregon women’s soccer lost their fourth and fifth consecutive Pac-12 games this week. A season-high attendance of 625 wasn’t couldn’t power Ducks passed Washington as Oregon fell 1-0 to the Huskies on Saturday.
