When was the last time that ASUO leadership asked you what student government could do to make your life better?
With rising fees, questionable ethics and a continuing trend of unaccountable slates, we need a new vision in order to best represent student needs and improve student life at the University.
We need leaders who will bring the dedication, experience, and honesty to make changes that will best protect both student interests and student pocketbooks.
Emily McLain and San SunOwen’s platform speaks for itself. They will simplify the Health Center billing process to make insurance reimbursement easier, protect student access to Rec Center hours and services, and fight tuition and fee hikes.
Emily and San will work to save students money. Through lobbying for more financial aid and working to reform the student incidental fee, Emily and Sun will ensure that student government is accountable and fair for all students.
When you wade through the campaign flyers, T-shirts and scripted talking points, it comes down not only to who is going to get the work done and be accountable to students but which ticket will work for the issues that affect you.
Rather than having candidates come tell you what their platform is, look to the candidates that ask you what your platform is. Ultimately it is you, not them, that should choose the direction of the ASUO and the University.
I’ll be voting for Emily and San because I know they’ll work for me, and they’ll work for you too.
