Alex Conley: “I think it would depend on how much we’d be paying, and if the load was lessened from these adjusted routes. If we’re paying 100-plus extra each for buses we won’t even use, then I’ll have none of it.”
Matt Petryni: “Urban areas require a certain level of density and centralization for their mass transit systems to operate with the efficiency that makes it worthwhile. While Eugene is becoming more dense, it lacks the kind of centralization you’d find in a similar-sized city with a healthier downtown, and therefore will continue to need costly subsidies to keep mass transit here operating everywhere we need it as energy gets more expensive.”
Quinn Moticka: “LTD has a responsibility to the citizens of Lane County to provide efficient public transportation. While it’s restructuring, LTD needs to make sure it will continue to provide this service.”
